Intern Spotlight: Jesse Thornton

Jesse Thornton is a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he is majoring in Communication Studies while minoring in Business. In his time on campus, he has spent countless hours as a student employee, and a dedicated club member. Jesse has served in multiple leadership positions on the Men’s Club Ultimate Frisbee team including Club secretary and club president. These leadership opportunities provided him with experience in managing club budgets, scheduling practices and events, and leading a group of his peers. He has also served as a Facility Assistant for UNCW’s very own Campus Life for three years. This position gave him the opportunity to set up University events while working in a group of his peers and supervisors. Jesse is passionate about his work ethic and is dedicated to completing any task to the best of his ability.

At the Wilson Center, Jesse works as an Operations intern. He was drawn to the Wilson Center due to his love and passion for live shows and performances. He is excited about this role because it gives him an opportunity to look behind the scenes and learn what it takes to produce high-quality live performances.

In his free time, Jesse enjoys spending time at the beach and swimming in the ocean. He will rarely miss an opportunity to paddle out and surf when the waves are nice on Wrightsville Beach. He also loves attending live musical performances, shows, and sporting events.

His father always told him,

“If you ever get the chance to attend a live show, never turn it down!”
