John Handy headshot

John Handy is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington majoring in creative writing with a minor in business and digital arts. He has a strong connection with campus and is an integral member of TealTV’s Studio Crew where he acts as Floor Director. He takes tremendous pride in his teamwork skills and leadership. John has also worked for FOX Sports and Entertainment in the Commercial Administration department. In addition to his studies and work experience, John is a professional musician and aims to use his experience in the industry to support every sound and scene on stage at the Wilson Center as a Technical Production Intern. In the future, John wants to use his experience as an intern to gain the skills necessary to produce shows at the highest level.

John is a lifelong lover of live performances and has attended many shows theatrical and musical alike. John’s aspirations are to use his knowledge of the arts both in writing and music to impact the world in a positive way. His driving force and passion is advocacy for the importance of the arts and the wonderful benefits it has for us when shared with the world.

In his free time, John enjoys hiking the mountains of North Carolina just as much as swimming in the ocean on the coast. He also loves to cook international and American dishes inspired by local restaurants. Whether it be playing music or traveling, John says that both are always better with friends and family.
