No Boundaries International Art Colony Returns to Wilma W. Daniels Gallery

We are pleased to announce the return of the No Boundaries International Art Colony exhibition at the Wilma W. Daniels Art Gallery, with a unique exhibition this year. Due to the particular challenges and limitations presented by this year, NBIAC has curated a retrospective experience, with exciting and powerful works by previous national and international colony participants.

According to Vicky Smith of NBIAC, “This is the first year since the creation of No Boundaries that we have not had an art colony on Bald Head Island. Because we cannot easily leave the country, nor can artists easily come here, we have pulled from our existing collection in order to share works from around the world with Wilmington and the Cape Fear region.” NBAIC was incorporated in 1998 by Pam Toll, Gayle Tustin, and Dick Roberts, with the express purpose of bringing artists from around the world together to enlighten each other, and to share art, culture and ideas with the larger community.

“In past years, artists participating in the colony have given a piece of work created on the Island to No Boundaries in exchange for the experience of the art colony,” said Smith. “We are excited that we are able to share art from France, Spain, Peru, Germany, Iceland, Macedonia, and more, this year. In addition, we have included works from some of our talented local artists, which really makes this exhibition unique!”

The No Boundaries International Art Colony 2020 Retrospective Exhibition opens on Friday, November 13, 2020 and runs through December 18, 2020. There will be an opening reception held at the Wilma. W. Daniels Gallery on November 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The reception will be an indoor/outdoor affair, adhering to state and local requirements, and featuring live music. Masks will be required.
