STAR MARK • PANTHEON • EXILIC DANCES

Utah’s most established institution for contemporary dance, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company actively embraces and commissions the work of contemporary choreographers, tours worldwide, and develops dynamic education and community outreach programming.

The Wilson Center will present three works:
• Star Mark (2016), by Joanna Kotze, challenges conventional notions of beauty and normality through a complex web of highly physical movement.
• Pantheon (2017) by Raja Feather Kelly, transposes the paganism and sacrifice of the Stravinsky/Nijinsky Rite of Spring to the 21st-century world of global pop culture, and the inherent sacrifices it demands of its audience.”
• Exilic Dances (2017) by Company Artistic Director Daniel Charon. Set to the invigorating rhythms of klezmer music, Exilic Dances is a musical theater-styled exploration of the irony and perils associated with immigration.

This program is proudly brought to the Wilson Center by Cape Fear Stage, the presenting arm of Cape Fear Community College.
