Overview
Classical Connections is the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra’s annual Classics Series concert that bridges the timeless traditions of classical music with the vibrant energy of other genres. This innovative program explores the intersections between classical works and styles such as jazz, folk, pop, or world music—showcasing how classical music continues to evolve and inspire across generations and cultures.
Each year, Classical Connections highlights pieces that fuse musical worlds, whether it's a symphonic arrangement of a jazz standard, a concerto influenced by folk traditions, or a new composition that blends electronic textures with orchestral sounds. Through thoughtful programming and engaging narration from the stage, this concert deepens the audience’s appreciation for classical music while celebrating its versatility and relevance.
