Acclaimed TV late-night host and admired stand-up comedian Jay Leno returns to Cape Fear Community College’s (CFCC) Wilson Center on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. This time, he’s joined by competitor turned long-time friend, versatile actor, and comedian Arsenio Hall.
When someone threatens to “kick your ass” on live TV, they don’t often get to join you for a national tour in the future. But such is life, and lucky for us, Jay Leno looked past (or entirely forgot) about Arsenio Hall’s previous comments. Instead, these legends of late-night television joined forces to bring their charm, energy, and humor to the stage.
Widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business,” Jay Leno dominated late-night television during his two decades as host of the #1 rated “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Since his undeniable success, he currently hosts the series “Jay Leno’s Garage,” where he shares his love of cars and the stories of people behind the wheel. He also co-hosts the comedy gameshow “You Bet Your Life,” with longtime friend and Tonight Show bandleader, Kevin Eubanks.
When he’s not on TV, Leno enjoys performing stand-up, working on his collection of cars and motorcycles, writing books and automotive columns, and long walks on the beach (so we’re told). He’s won an impressive catalog of awards including an Emmy, People’s Choice Award, and a star on the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. He also drives the pace car for all major NASCAR events.
Arsenio Hall skyrocketed to fame with the success of his Emmy Award-winning late-night talk show, “The Arsenio Hall Show,” which changed the face of late-night television virtually overnight. He captivated young viewers across the country and provided a forum for cutting edge comedy, politics and the debut of pop superstars.
He’s also built a career in TV and film, by co-starring and writing the hit comedy “Coming to America,” as well as being featured in animated films, sports documentaries, comedy films, and stand-up comedy specials. His most recent special, “Smart & Classy,” can be streamed across the world. He too enjoys long walks on the beach.
Prepare yourself for an evening of laughter, nostalgia, and excellent comedy. We promise, no feuds here. Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center Members beginning Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at WilsonCenterTickets.com; or by contacting the box office.
